Margaret A. Mentzer, 67, Olathe, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. She was born Aug. 4, 1932, in Dumphry, Va., to Lucifer Hedges and Christine Hernden. She was president and valedictorian of her high-school class. She moved to Olathe in 1974. She was a member of the Prairie Center Church of God of Prophecy. She was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Hedges. Survivors include two sons, two daughters, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, at W.L. Frye and Son Funeral Home, Olathe. The funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Olathe Memorial Cemetery.
