Funeral rites were held Sunday afternoon from the Voss Chapel in Seymour, for Francis J. Birge, 65, who for twenty years owned and operated the Birge Electric Company on South Chestnut Street in Seymour.

Mr. Birge, who had been in failing health for a number of years, died early Friday morning at the Schneck Memorial Hospital.

A native of St. Louis, Missouri, he was born July 12, 1902, a son of the late Ernest N. and Mary Nipher Birge. He was married in Iberia, Missouri May 26, 1926, to Wilma Pemberton, and they moved to Seymour in 1932 when Mr. Birge was named plant manager of the Seymour Manufacturing Company.
