Funeral services for James Wesley Ferguson, 62, of Lufkin will be held in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bobby Oberlechner and Brother Ernest Massingill officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Union Cemetery.

Mr. Ferguson was born May 18, 1951 in Lufkin, Texas to Bessie (Richards) and Elbert Ferguson, Sr., and died Monday, December 23, 2013 in a local hospital.

Mr. Ferguson was a lifetime resident of Lufkin. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding 4-wheelers and reading the Bible. Mr. Ferguson loved his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a member of Sonlight Bible Church.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years Rita Ferguson; daughters and sons-in-law, Cherita Ferguson, Tammy and Michael Hightower and Sherry and Mike Haggard; son and daughter-in-law, John and Bethany Carnley; grandchildren, Braiden, Michael and Hunter Hightower, Tytus and Kylie Beauchamp, Natalie, Johnathan, Reba and Chase Carnley, Chris, Zachary and Geoffrey Carter; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and David Hunt, Mary and Doyle Bishop, and Lois Hale; brothers, Elbert Ferguson, Jr. and Eliga Ray Ferguson; sisters-in-law, Patsy Riggs and Carolyn White; brother-in-law, Sammy White; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Blaine Beauchamp; parents-in-law, Ruth and A.B. White; and brother-in-law, Kenneth White.
