Gerald Arment age 86 of Grinnell, Iowa died Sunday at the Mayflower Health Care Center in Grinnell. Interment in the Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell.

Gerald Arthur Arment was the son of Basil and Wilma "Esther" Gillespie Arment. The family moved to Grinnell, Iowa, where he attended school and later graduated in 1946 from Kellogg High School.

He was married to Anna Rinehart on February 2, 1946 in Unionville, Missouri. They were the parents of Dennis, Linda and Virgil.

Shortly after their marriage they moved to Red Rock, Iowa where they helped her parents in their small country store, Red Rock Trading Post. In 1957 they moved to Grinnell and he worked for Arment Plumbing and Heating Company. He later worked for 28 years in the Facilities Management Department of Grinnell College. He retired in 1987.

Gerald enjoyed spending winters in Texas and camping throughout the United States. He was an avid fisherman and loved to spend time with his family.
