Joyce Tate Wilcox of Syracuse, Utah passed away Saturday, December 21, 2013 at the age of 86. She was born March 4, 1927 in Logan, Utah to Charles Delmar and Oreta Lorraine Tate.

Joyce married Milton Henry Wilcox on May 22, 1961 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

She was a member of the LDS Church where she served two missions, 1950-1951 Texas/Louisiana Mission and 1994-1995 Knoxville/Tennessee Mission. Joyce loved to sing and enjoyed being a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir 1956-1965. She was also a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.

She served as the Secretary to Elder Delbert L. Stapley at the LDS Church Office Bldg in Salt Lake City for several years. After that she owned and operated the Ogden Travel Center with her husband.

She loved children and enjoyed the years she was the librarian at Syracuse Elementary School and also enjoyed teaching singing lessons.

She is survived by her son David (Sue) Wilcox, daughter, Mary Ann Wilcox (Karl) Fink, brother, Charles D. Tate Jr., sisters, Glenna T. Holbrook, Alice T. Facer, Pauline T. Cahoon, Carolyn T. Aldous, granddaughter, Brianna Wilcox Davis, grandson, James Wilcox and three great-grandchildren.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Milton Henry Wilcox, parents, sister, Donna T. Galittli and baby brother, Lynn Tate.

Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.
