Barbara E. Hoovler, 66, of 8 Crane St., Jamestown, passed away on Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, in the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa.
An area resident for most of her life, she was born Jan. 3, 1947, in Chatham, Ontario, a daughter of the late Robert Clay and Margaret Mae Newberry Britton.
She was a 1965 graduate of the former Chautauqua Central School and the Williamsport Area Tech School in Williamsport, Pa.
She had been employed as head of food service for A Children's Place Day Care Center at First Presbyterian Church and more recently was an aide for The Resource Center working primarily at the Foote Avenue facility.
She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother who loved her sons deeply and always put them first in her life. She also enjoyed camping at Allegany State Park with her family, her brothers, nieces and nephews.
Surviving are her two sons, Darren Hoovler and Daniel Hoovler, and two grandsons, Joshua Hoovler and Erik Hoovler, all of Jamestown.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a son, David Clay Britton, and three brothers: Brian Britton, James Britton and William Britton.
