To this union nine children were born, four of whom are still living. On the 29th of January, the only son was killed in a wreck in Kansas City, and from this terrible blow the mother never fully rallied. On July 3rd she had a paralytic stroke, completely disabling her left side, she grew weaker and on the following Thursday passed away. Her husband and children did all possible for her but it was of no avail.
The funeral services were held at the house Saturday morning, by Rev. Parker, after which her body was laid in the city cemetery. She leaves a husband, four daughters and a host of friends to mourn her departure.
