Albert Leroy Blauser, 102, died Friday, April 15, 2005, at 9:20 p.m. at York Hospital. He was the husband of Frances M. (Miller) Blauser, who died June 1990. Funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Workinger-Semmel F.H. and Crematorium, Inc., 849 E. Market St., York. Viewings will be 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday, and 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Mt. Rose Cemetery, with graveside military rites conducted by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Officiating at the service, will be his former pastor, the Rev. Della M. Fahnestock. Mr. Blauser was born January 14, 1903, in York. He was the son of the late Charles Albert and Aquilla Marie (Miller) Blauser. He retired after 26 years, as a York City paid firefighter, stationed at Goodwill Fire Co. #5. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the former Emmanuel United Church Of Christ. Mr. Blauser was the oldest living fireman in the state of Pennsylvania. He was a member of York Fireman's Relief Assoc.; South East Fireman's Assoc.; York Co. Fireman's Assoc. and Knights of Pythias Lodge. He is survived by one daughter, Susan Stephanie Carney of Crystal River, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two stepsons, Conrad William Stauffer of Naples, Fla. and Joseph Patrick Stauffer of Limerick. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fire Museum of York County, 757 West Market St., York, PA 17404.
