BELDEN – Carl Adrin Keltner, 86, died Saturday, December 21, 2013, at Sanctuary Hospice House following an extended illness. He was born April 13, 1927, in Providence Community in West Tennessee to Austin Irving Keltner and Ruby Catherine Fields Keltner.

After high school, he entered the U.S. Army and served in The Army of Occupations in Germany for two years after World War II. Upon returning home from service, he attended West TN Business College. He then was employed by TVA, where he worked for thirty-three years. He retired as a personnel officer in the division of Power Systems Operations in Chattanooga, TN. A few years after retiring, Carl and his wife, Mary Ellen moved to Tupelo. He was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church and a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class. He was a loving husband, enjoyed yard work, gardening, all sports, and was an avid golfer.

Survivors include his wife of forty-three years, Mary Ellen Keltner of Belden; two sisters-in-law, Nelda Jackson (Kirkville) and Paulette Nichols (Charles) of Bay Springs; two brothers-in-law, Jimmy Tabler (Geneva) of Mantachie and Billy Tabler (Shirley) of Booneville; and a host of nieces and nephews, friends and special cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Thomas and Johnny; two sisters, Doris Mae and an infant sister; his father-in-law and mother in-law, Forbes and Mildred Tabler.

A celebration of life service will be at 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, in the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Dr. Rick Brooks and Rev. Duncan Clark officiating. Private burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park. Visitation will be today from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Monday from 1 p.m. to service time.

Pallbearers will be Dan Langley, Bobby Carter, Curtis Buskirk, Ray Reed, John Harris, Tommy Harris, Billy Irwin, and John Reed.

Honorary pallbearers will be Friendship Sunday School Class and Sanctuary Hospice Nurses.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Luke UMC, 1400 Clayton Ave., Tupelo, MS 38801 or Sanctuary Hospice House, P.O. Box 2177, Tupelo, MS 38803.
