Maude was born in 1868 to Capt. James Haley, who piloted a steamboart, and Selena Crook Haley, who sometimes accompanied him. She must have had an interesting childhood.
On April 22, 1903, she was married to Ivor Hopkin Williams in Detroit, where they made their home. Ivor was a carpenter and home builder.
They were blessed with three children: Ralph (1904-1970), Dwight (1906-1966), and Mary Emojene Kathlein Williams(1910-). Mary was married four times, and her final resting place remains unknown.
In 1905, the Detroit Free Press carried an interesting story about them, which is in her husband’s memorial.
Maude died in 1932 and was survived by her husband and children and by a brother Ralph and sister Arda (Haley) Peters.
