Taylor Clevenger, 84, of 2000 South York Street, Yorktown, passed away Wednesday, November 19th, 2008 at Ball Memorial Hospital. Ruth was born in Muncie, on January 7th, 1924 to parents, Merrill and Hazel Clark Nelson. She graduated from Daleville High School, class of 1942. She was a member of the Yorktown United Methodist Church, a member and past matron of the Daleville Eastern Star and the Yorktown Women's Club. She is survived by two sons, Phil (wife-Janet) Taylor of Macon, GA, and Gary Taylor, of Imperial, CA; one daughter, Sandra (husband-Randy) Ramsey, of Elk Mountain, WY; one sister Donna (husband-Glen) Franklin, of Daleville; two very close friends, Kathy Bland and Lonna Vansayock, both of Yorktown; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Floyd Taylor, and her second husband, Lawrence "Jobe" Clevenger in 1997. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 22, 2008, at the Gant Funeral Home, Yorktown Chapel with Rev. Steve Loft officiating. Burial will be in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie, Eastern Star Services will be held Friday evening. Friends may call Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Yorktown United Methodist Church.
