Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Nettie Monroe of Grayson; three sons: Bishop Monroe of Ruston; Johnie Monroe and Hardy Monroe, both of Grayson; four daughters: Mrs. Myrtle M. Guercico of White Castle, Mrs. Irvin Joyner of Holum, Mrs. Margaret McGee of Grayson and Mrs. Mable Haggens of Okinawa; one sister, Mrs. Sue Shelton of Winnsboro; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Monroe, a retired planter, also leaves many friends here who regret to hear of his passing.
