birth record --
Johann Friedrich Lindenschmidt, born Dec 24, christened Dec 27, 1723, in Hassloch, Pfalz, Bavaria, Germany,
son of Johan Daniel Lindenschmidt & Anna Barbara [Muschel].

In 1748 Friedrich would have been 25 years old when his father moved to America, taking his children and brother. Friedrich's mother had died, and his father took his new wife (who he married in 1746) and family to America, maybe stopping in Switzerland on the way (where a child might have been born).
The Passenger list shows Daniel with his family, including son Friederich:
Wife Catharina Huber; Child Anna Magdalena; Child Joh Friederich; Child Anna Margaretha; Child Joh Valentin.

Evidently Friedrich didn't stay long in America, but went back to Germany.

There were 3 various listings of Friederich Lindenschmidt in Hassloch, Pfalz, Bavaria, Germany birth records. They appear to be the same man, but possibly with 2 different wives (I belived the first 2 children had the same mother) --

Children of Jon. Friedrich Lindenschmidt & Catharina Elisabetha
--Anna Magdalena Lindenschmidt, ch Jan 19, 1749, Evangelisch

Children of Friederich Lindenschmied & Elisabetha
--Johannes Lindenschmied, ch May 26, 1751, Evangelisch

Children of (Joh.) Friederich Lindenschmitt (Lindenschmitt, Lindenschmied) & Anna Elisabetha
--Anna Elisabetha Lindenschmied, ch May 3, 1754, Hassloch, Pfalz, Bavaria, Germany
--Maria Catharina Lindenschmied, ch May 3, 1754, Hassloch
--Philipp Peter Lindenschmitt, ch Nov 14, 1756, Hassloch
--Anna Catharine Lindenschmitt, ch May 2, 1762, Hassloch
--Maria Magdalena Lindenschmitt, ch Nov 11, 1765, Hassloch

In 1769 his son, Joseph (age 18) left Germany (with a guardian) and emigrated to the US, joining his grandfather, Daniel, who had arrived in Pennsylvania in 1748.

In 1784 (to 1788) Freidrich was a part of a group of several hundred (probably poor) Germans who moved to Serbia to start a new town called Vrbas. He and his son Philipp Peter died of malaria there.
