Funeral services were held on Monday morning from the chapel of the Smith Funeral Home for H. R. Anderson, 79, who died Friday afternoon in Fredericksburg. The Episcopal funeral service was read by Rev. Sheridan Newman of Boerne Episcopal Church, and interment was in the Garden of Memories.
Mr. Anderson died Friday afternoon as the result of a tragic accident. He and Mrs. Anderson had gone from their home in Center Point for a visit with friends in Fredericksburg who lived on a country road. As they were leaving the home, he got out to open the gate, and Mrs. Anderson, who moved over to drive the automobile through the gate, apparently accelerated the motor instead of using the brake and ran over him.
A native of Denison. Anderson had been in the hardware business for many years and came to Kerrville from Dallas in 1942. He operated a hardware store until 1944, when he sold the business to Walter Reiffert and moved to Bandera. He had resided in Center Point for the last few years.
HIs survivors are his widow of the home address; one son, Tom Anderson of this city; two brothers, Tom Anderson of California and Gernie Anderson of Oregon; a sister, Mrs. J. F. Rennie of Dallas, one grandchild.
Pallbearers were Walter Reiffert, John Thomas, E. R. Dischinger, Milton Pampell, T. K. Carie and Darrell G. Lochte.
