Brode was born in Tamaqua, the son of the late Samuel and Lucy Miller.
Brode where he lived most of his life and where he operated a butcher shop for 45 years. The shop was previously owned by his father.
His wife, the former Elizabeth Lane, preceded him in death.
Brode was affiliated with Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church and was a member of the Harmony Lodge of Odd Fellows.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Calvin Kreiser, Royalton, two grandsons, William H. Danner of Leavittsburg, Ohio, and the Rev. Edgar H Danner, Pemberton, NJ, and three brothers, John Brode, Schuylkill Ave, Thomas Brode, 415 Schuylkill Ave, and Charles Brode, Brookline, Mass.
