Homer was the son of James Walter Allen and Nancy Velma Davis. He was the oldest of 12 children. He married Gladys Colonia Eiland on March 19, 1927 and they had 6 children. They divorced and he married Carmen Wimberley in 1945. They had 9 children. He farmed in Seminole Texas.

Services for Tex "Homer" Allen, father of Homer Gene Allen and brother of J.V. Allen and W.R. Allen, all of Seminole, were held Wednesday, March 20 at Atoka Funeral Home in Atoka, Oklahoma, with the Rev. Bob Johnson officiating.
Burial was held in Redden Cemetery under the direction of Atoka Funeral Home.
Mr. Allen died Monday, March 20 at Atoka Memorial Hospital.
He was born November 26, 1906, in Atoka County, Indian Territory. He married Gladys Clone Iland in Vernon in 1927. He was a farmer and oilfield worker.
Allen was preceded in death by his wife; three sons, John D. Allen, Henry Floyd Allen and Baby Boy Allen.
Survivors include eight sons, Homer Gene Allen of Seminold, Bill Allen of Sahuarita AZ, Lenord Ray Wimberly, Jerry Hauk, both of Albuquerque NM, Freddy Ferrell of Denver City, Perry Allen of Bakersfield, CA, Tim and Jim Allen of Lubbock TX; five daughters, Janet Marzell Edgar of Ocala, FL, Barbara Earlene Moore of Gonzales TX, Rosemary Upton of Germany, Betty Lou Lund of Shelton WA, Sandra Price of Lubbock; 37 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; four brothers J.V. Allen, W.R. Allen of Seminole, M.J. Allen of Electra; three sisters, Verna Blackman of Jerrald, Shirley Presley of Seminole TX, Goldie Zatchic of Electra; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Pallbearers are Jack Bicknell, Jimmy Bicknell, Denny Bicknell, Ray Powell, Noel Powell, Robert Powell and an alternate, R.J. Powell.
