James Wright came to Union Co. KY in 1854 from Christian Co. KY w/ his family, John H. & Lucy (Quisenberry)Wright, at age 19. He had 6 children by 1st wife (Kittie Blackwell), she died, married 2nd wife, Laura Hibbs, had 6 children. Laura died 6/3/1887, result of hysterectomy. James married again (Neicie Wise), had 6 children. He was a farmer, livestock breeder and seller. He died 10/6/1902, one of the wealthiest men in Union Co, KY. His funeral procession stretched for over a mile. He is buried in Morganfield Masonic Cemetery. His monument shows his birth year as 1847. This is an error. He was born in 1835. James Wright was very well known and respected in Union County. A county road was named after him.
