He was born in Sweet Home on Aug. 27, 1920 to the late M. A. and Mollie Kunetka Hanys. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was an operator at the Cuero Gin and Feed Store.
He is survived by his son, Jerry Michael Hanys, and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Tennie B. Valigura Hanys and parents.
Visitation was Tuesday, Sept. 7 at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be Wednesday, Sept. 8 at 11 a.m. at Freund Funeral Home Chapel, with Deacon Tony Warzecha officiating. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery. Freund Funeral Home, Cuero, 361-275-2343.
