James C. Hoyt, 64, of American Fork passed away Wednesday, November 8. 2000 at American Fork Hospital of congestive heart failure. He was born October 7, 1936 in Lake Benton, Minnesota to Charles Gilmore and Helen Augusta Nordmeyer Hoyt.
He married Barbara May Gregg and together had three children. They were later divorced. He spent his early years in Minnesota and later moved with his family to Salt Lake.
He attended South High School and graduated in 1954. He was employed by the Utah Highway Patrol for years and later worked at Geneva Steel.
He had a great love for the outdoors and spent time hunting and fishing with his family. He loved his family greatly and will remembered for his warm, loving smile and persistence for life.
He is survived by two sons and a daughter: Randy (Susan) Hoyt, Lindon; Jeff (Cheryl) Hoyt, Pleasant Grove; Julie (Todd) Goulding, Highland; and 10 grandchildren. Additional survivors include his sisters: Sally Burt, Kay Jones, and Peggy Hague all of Salt Lake.
Funeral services were Monday, November 13, 2000 at Anderson Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork. Interment was in the American Fork City Cemetery under the direction of Olpin Family Mortuary.
