Howard Anderson, 77, passed away Friday, December 13, 2013, in Rosewood on Broadway in Fargo, ND.

Howard Anderson was born in Galesburg, ND on February 14, 1936 to Herman and Lena (Rostad) Anderson, the third of ten children. God knew what He was doing when He chose Valentine's Day as Howard's birthday. He had so much love to share, being born on Valentine's Day seemed so appropriate. Howard received his GED while serving in the Army from 1955 – 1957. He married the love of his live, Sharon Siedschlag on June 20, 1964, in Fargo, ND. Together they made their home in Fargo, Sabin and Fargo before settling in Dilworth. Howard learned the sheet metal trade while working at Peterson Sheet Metal in Fargo, ND. Howard then worked at Home Heating. Howard founded Anderson Heating and Air Conditioning in 1969 in Sabin, MN. After a time, Howard sold Anderson Heating and became self-employed as Howie's Mechanical. He worked until he was 75 years old, up at all hours of the night servicing furnaces.

Howard's favorite hobby was cooking. He owned restaurants, a food stand and catered for weddings. He owned and operated Howard's Polish & Burgers of Shady Hollow for 20 years. He owned Fabjito's in downtown Dilworth, MN. He loved hosting large parties of all sorts that would include dinners from roast beef to potato dumplings and lutefisk. He will be missed at morning coffee at McDonald's on Eight Street in Moorhead. He very much enjoyed barbecuing at Tom's Shoe Repair with Corky and the boys. He and his family enjoyed Anderson and Siedschlag family reunions and they are thankful for all the happy memories.

Howard is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughter, Wanda Simonson; three grandchildren; siblings, Gerhardt, Roy, Esther Gregor, Alvina Nelson, Pearl Ochoa and Donna Jenkins; and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his son, Howard Jr.; parents, Herman and Lena; siblings, Lillian Hansen, Myron George, Mae Clara; father and mother-in-law, August and Anna Siedschlag; sister-in-law Audrey Anderson, and brothers-in-law, LeRoy LeCroix, Clarence Jenkins, Norman Hansen, Rick Harvala, Tom Atkins; and nephews, Gary Anderson and Pat Anderson.

Special thanks to Hospice of the Red River Valley and the staff at Rosewood on Broadway for the wonderful care they provided to Howard and his family.

A memorial gathering will be held Saturday from 1 – 2 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m., in Triumph Lutheran Brethren Church, Moorhead, MN.

Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
