GERMANTON, NC ~ Mrs. Nina Lucille Ferguson Tedder, 97, widow of E. B. (Buck) Tedder, died peacefully Monday evening, December 16 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem.

She was born September 28, 1916 in Stokes County to James Preston and Minnie Tuttle Ferguson.

Mrs. Tedder was a farmer and housewife. She was a lifelong member of Haw Pond Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, her parents and her six sisters; Nora Boyles, Effie Tedder, Sadie Tedder, Ada Robertson, infant Ana Ferguson, and Myrtle Kiger and one brother, Homer Ferguson. She was the last of her generation of the Fergusons.

Nina lived her entire life in the Quaker Gap Community of Stokes County. She and her husband were charter members of the Quaker Gap Community Organization, to which they donated land for their community center building. She was also a charter member of the Sauratown Fireman's Ladies Auxiliary.

Surviving are a son and a faithful daughter-in-law, James (Jim) and Peggy Tedder of Germanton and a son, David of King. She is also survived by two special grandsons, Bradley James Tedder and Kevin Todd Tedder and wife Meredith; two great granddaughters, Mallory and Miranda Tedder. Jordan Jones was also a "special" great grandson, two sisters-in-law, June Tedder and Kathleen Tedder and a brother-in-law, Joel Tedder and wife, Frances; several nieces and nephews of the Ferguson and Tedder sides of the family.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Haw Pond Church of Christ. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Tedder will lie instate at the church beginning at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

The family will accept floral tributes or memorials made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or to Haw Pond Church of Christ Cemetery Fund, c/o Vicki Hill, 1327 Sandy Mabe Road, Germanton, NC 27019.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Hospice for the care given their Mother. A special thank you to all her family and friends for their loving support and visits.
