Born February 24, 1934 in Gentry County, Missouri to Dolah May (Yadon) Gilliland and Earl Orr Gilliland, Bill was the youngest of 4 children and quite the wild one until he met his match in Miss Shirley Jane Wright. Bill was smitten at first sight and soon changed Miss Wright's name to Gilliland and would remain her faithfully devoted husband until his leaving this earth 56 short years later.
Bill served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War as a Communications Specialist stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He later had many impressive careers but his most important we're husband and father.
Bill was welcomed into heaven by his two beautiful daughters Venita Jean and Robin Renee, beloved parents Dolah and Earl Gilliland, and siblings, Marjorie (Junior) Allen, John (Lucille) Gilliland Sr., and Blondina (Richard) Abels.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years Shirley Jane (Wright) Gilliland and his most prized accomplishment, his children Suzan (Shawn) Perkins, William (Bonnie) Gilliland, Bradley (Machelle) Gilliland, Eric (Amy) Gilliland, Erin (Ramon) Reyes-Ferguson; 15 grandchildren, Leslie Pool, Joshua (Miranda) Mohi, Michael (Jacque) Mohi, Yasamine (Alex) Meek, Max Perkins, Patrick Gilliland, Teagan Gilliland, Thor Gilliland, Serenity Gilliland, Robin (John) Rose, Jessica Murphy, Renee Gilliland, Chris Gilliland, Jason Gilliland, and Evan Reyes-Gilliland; and 16 great-grandchildren, Andre, Deziree, Peyton, Cameron, Claire, Madison, Kaydee, Renee, Jessica, Landon, Emma, Braydon, Lana, Wyatt, Erika and Ethan.
