Blaine Walter Adamson, our loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, returned to his Father in Heaven on December 15, 2013 at his home in Lehi, Utah. Surrounded by his family, he passed away after suffering from complications of a stroke.

He was born October 16, 1934 in American Fork, Utah to James Walter and Sene Marie Newman Dean Adamson.

He was raised in American Fork and Lehi, graduating from Lehi High School in 1953, and also graduated from Brigham Young University.

He married his sweetheart, Rose Marie Parker Adamson, on December 11, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Blaine was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served faithfully in many callings including being the first Bishop of the Wines Park Ward in Lehi. He had a passion for doing indexing work which he shared with many. He was currently serving as Stake Indexing Coordinator prior to his passing. He always enjoyed being of service to others. Family was the most important thing to Blaine and he enjoyed spending time and creating memories.

He served in the Utah National Guard for forty-two years and developed many friendships he spoke of often. He established the first Utah National Guard Running Team which competed nationally, serving as Team Captain for ten years. His passion for running started around age forty-three and he held multiple state records for his age group. He participated in over thirty marathons including; Nebraska, New York, and Boston.

Blaine was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rose Marie Parker Adamson; daughter, Carol Ann Adamson; son, Bart W. Adamson; sister, Ardell Marie Dean Zimmerman Adamson; and brother, Ramon (Kenna) Dean. He is survived by his children, Kay B. (Annette) Adamson, Lehi; Jill Marie (Jeffrey) Fraughton, American Fork; Jennifer (Chad) Hall, Lehi; and Melissa Adamson, Lehi; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Elaine (Lloyd) Andersen, Orem; Janice (Tony) Peck, Lehi; and Connie Powell, South Jordan.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lehi Stake Center, 300 North Center Street. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the stake center and from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the services on Thursday.
Interment: Lehi City Cemetery.
