He was born at Lewiston, July 19, 1887, the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Whitcomb.
He attended Lewiston schools and played baseball while attending Lewiston Normal School for a time.
Later he farmed at Tammany and then went to work for the State Highway Department. He retired there at 65. His home was at 206 13th Ave.
In October 1909, he married Mable Parlett at Lewiston. They had two children who survive, Mrs. E.J. Holland, Spokane, and Marvin J. of Boise. Mabel died in 1930.
June 30, 1953, he married Lora Thomas at Couer d'Alene, and she died in 1958.
He married Minola R. Parsley at Grangeville, April 14, 1961, and she survives him at home.
Other survivors include two sisters, Mayme Whitcomb, San Fransisco, and Mrs. Delia Michaels of Garden Grove, Calif., a brother, Lee V. Whitcomb of Lewiston; six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
