Nance Sheriff Slain While Doing Duty -

Nance County Sheriff Dave Johnson was shot and killed Monday noon, and a special deputy, Aaron Hadfield, was seriously wounded at the farm home of Mr. and Mrs.
Herbert Heule about six miles southeast of Fullerton. Theodore Heule, 33 years old son of Mr. and Mrs. Heule did the shooting....Heule fled in his car to Kansas...[died after a shoot-out in Kansas].
