A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late James Mitchell and Ellen Bramlette Rogers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gaither G. Rollins. Irene was a member of Berea First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara R. Wood of Greenville, South Carolina; two granddaughters, Alana Acker and her husband, Dave, of Macungie, Pennsylvania and Raina Wood of Indianapolis, Indiana; and a great-granddaughter, Gillian Acker.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Berea First Baptist Church in Greenville, South Carolina. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 20, 2013 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Dr. Chad Rickenbaker officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Newfound Road.
