HOWARD – John A. (Pap) Brownson Sr., 85, of Howard R.D.1, died at 11:15 p.m. Saturday in Lock Haven Hospital shortly after being transferred from the hospital’s extended car unit where he had been a patient since Aug. 8, 1975.
He was born Feb. 13, 1891, in Wayne County, Ohio, a son of Aaron W. and Mary Sheum Brownson.
Mr. Brownson was a Piper Aircraft Corp. employee, retiring in 1956. Following his retirement, he assisted his sons John and Willard in the operation of a service station in Howard.
He was a member of the Howard Fire Company, the Howard VFW, and a former auditor and constable in Howard Township.
His two wives preceded him in death. The former Ruth E. Gray died in 1926 and the former Elva M. Burkett died in 1966.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Edna Yeagley of Creston, Ohio, Mrs. Mary Dobert of Wyndotte, Mich., Mrs. Donna Heaton of Howard R.D.1, and Mrs. Betty Weaver of Mill Hall R.D.1; four sons, Nelson Brownson of Atascadero, Calif.; John Brownson Jr. and Walter Brownson of Howard R.D.1, and Willard Brownson of Howard; six sisters, Mrs. Carol Berg of Holland, N.Y.; Mrs. Ethel Gustafson and Mrs. Leon Scoleo, both of Maker, Mont.; Mrs. Magdelana Wolverton of Salem, Ore.; Mrs. Martha McFarland of Eureka Calif., and Mrs. Myrtle Palmer of Aberdeen, Idaho; 47 grand-children; 85 great-grandchildren; and three great-greatgrandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE
BROWNSON – Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the W. Robert Neff Funeral Home, Howard, for John A. (Pap) Brownson Sr., 85, of Howard R.D.1, who died at 11:15 p.m. Saturday, Feb 28, 1976, in Lock Haven Hospital. The Rev. Jack D. Archer will officiate and burial will be in Jacksonville Cemetery. Friends are being received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
