St. Albans – Mary Natalie (Calo) Dufresne a lifelong resident of this community passed away Saturday, December 14, 2013, at the St. Albans Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center with her loving family at her side.

Born on February 17, 1923, in St. Albans, she was the daughter of the late Domenic R. and Marcelle (Perrier) Calo. Mary was 90 years old.

Mary was an Operator & Clerk for the former New England Telephone Company retiring in 1987 following 40 years of service. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Mary's Parish, a member of the Telephone Pioneer of America and a longtime volunteer at the St. Albans Free Library. She was the "Club Organizer" for Lorraine's Clothing and Drinkwater's Jewelry Store

Survivors include her daughter, Colleen Farnham and her husband, Keith, of Milton; her son, Francis "Frankie" Dufresne and his wife, Denise Kernan, of Ashfield, MA; her grandchildren, Matthew and Amy Farnham, Justin Dufresne, Ashley, Jeffrey and Bryan Kernan-Dufresne and a great grandson, Jayden Williams.

Mary is also survived by many family members in France and Italy and a dear friend, Sandra Bicknell of St. Albans.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Dufresne in 1970 and her brother, 2Lt Francis G Calo, who died in Normandy on June 6, 1944, both members of the 82nd Airborne.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, December 17, 2013, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main St., St. Albans. Father Feltz will conduct a prayer service at 3:45 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 18th at 11:00 A.M. in St. Mary's Church, 45 Fairfield St. with the Reverend John G. Feltz as celebrant. Interment will take place next spring in the Calo family lot in Holy Cross Cemetery.
