Services for Mrs. Joseph (Bertha L) Strangfeld, age 86, of Neillsville Memorial Home will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at United Methodist Church. She died at 11 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 1984, at the home. The Rev. Howard M Ott will officiate. Soloist will be Mrs. Betty Schultz accompanied by Mrs. Iris Musil. Burial will be in the Town of Weston Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chester Turville, Lawrence Bohnsack, Everett Shaw, William Kurasz, Albert and Walter Zank. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Thursday and Friday until 11 a.m. at Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, and then at the church for an hour before services.

The former Bertha L Sischo was born January 17, 1898 in the Town of York, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry (Alice Brown) Sischo and received her education in schools there. She was employed in Loyal for several years and later in Black River Falls. She was married to Joseph Strangfeld September 10, 1929 in Loyal. He died March 20, 1967. After their marriage they lived in Illinois for a few years, before moving to a farm in the Town of York. Three years later they moved to a farm in the Town of Weston and in 1960 located in Christie. She was a resident of the Memorial Home the past 12 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. James (Virginia) Deacon of Eau Claire; two sons, Edward of Neillsville and Raymond of Strum; two brothers Raymond Sischo of Trenary, MI and Floyd Sischo of Michigan City, IN; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, four brothers and three sisters.
