EMPORIA - Services will be Wednesday at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home here for David Luther Rees, 74, Route 4, Emporia, who died Here Sunday in a hospital where he had been a patient about 2 weeks.
He was born November 10, 1898 in South Wales, British Isles and lived in the Sardis community southwest of Emporia many years. He was a member of the Sardis Congregational Church and the Lyon County Farm Bureau. He was a farmer before he retired 5 years ago.
He was married to Katherine Edwards April 26, 1922 at Emporia. She survives. Other survivors include 2 sons, Trevor L. Rees, Emporia, and Everett J. Rees, Prairie Village; 2 daughters, Mrs. Dorothy M. Spade, Reading, and Evelyn J. Rees, Caldwell; a brother, Llewellyn M. Rees, Emporia; 3 sisters, Mrs. Mary C. Rowlands, Kearney, Neb., Mrs. Margaret Williams and Mrs. Claudia A. Mayes, both of Emporia; and 7 grandchildren.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in the Sardis community southwest of Emporia.
