Marie F. (Waller) Dimmitt was born December 28, 1921 in Mount Vernon, Indiana to Ulysses Simpson and Savannah Georgia (Pippin) Waller.
Marie accepted Christ at an early age and was a longtime member of Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church.
Marie united in Holy Matrimony to Henry Clinton Dimmitt Jr. in 1939. Two daughters, Patricia Ann (Dimmitt) Ray and Jacqueline Lorraine (Dimmitt) Payne were born of their union. They remained together until his death in 1963.
Marie was employed as a Clerk at Fashion Cleaners, as well as a Private Housekeeper. She then went on to work as a Nurse's Aide at Methodist Hospital, retiring in 1986.
Marie took pride in her beautifully landscaped yard and many flowers that always served to brighten her neighborhood. She will be remembered for her love and her devotion her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Dimmitt Jr. in 1963 and daughter, Jacqueline (Dimmitt) Payne in 1992, a sister; Alda (Waller) Woolridge in 1985, brothers: Everett in 1980, Alois in 1989, Lales in 1997, Fred in 2003, and Sparky in 2010.
She leaves to cherish her legacy: her daughter, Patricia Ray (John); grandchilden, Shannon Collins, Kimberly Sears, Stacey Paicely, Monica Ray, Eric Ray, and Derric Payne; 10 great-grandchidren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, other extended relatives and friends.
