Cal was born on January 3, 1924, 'out south' in Phillips County, Montana, to Marie and Henry Baeth. Cal was the fourth of eight children.
Cal grew up on the Baeth ranch south of Malta and as a teenager he survived pneumonia and typhoid. As a young man, Cal worked as a ranch hand at a number of ranches in the Malta area including the Hansen, Armstrong and Hould ranches. In addition, Cal worked with his brothers developing land in the Malta area. Cal had a high aptitude for mechanical work and was regularly relied upon to be able to put things together.
Calvin married Irene Emeline on November 3, 1956 and later moved to live with family in the Great Falls area. While looking for work Cal was hired as a farm hand by Dana Fitzgerald. Cal and Irene moved to Power and Cal worked for Dana Fitzgerald for 25 years; then worked for Dana's son, Ross Fitzgerald another 10 years before retiring.
Throughout his years in Power, Cal was active in the community and a Power Volunteer Fireman.
Calvin is survived by his wife of 57 years, a daughter, sister, brother, and many nieces and nephews.
Calvin is preceded in death by his parents, Marie and Henry Baeth; siblings Helen Wiederick, Walter Baeth, Pauline Larum, Ervin Baeth and Allen Baeth.
