Mother of Judge Edgar M. Lane Laid to Rest at Methodist Chapel

Raleigh, Feb. 6 - Mrs. George Lane, nee Anderson, 67, passed away Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Chisholm, at Burns following an illness of several days.

Mrs. Lane was a scion of one of the oldest and best known families in this section, and was the mother of fourteen children, twelve of whom are living. She was a faithful member of the Gasque Chapel Methodist church from which funeral services were conducted Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock in the presence of a large concourse of relatives and friends.

The surviving children are: Judge Edgar M. Lane, Raleigh; C. W., Denis and Otis Lane, of Lorena; Mrs. William Chisholm, Mrs. Floyd Chisholm, and Mrs. Jesse Burns, of Burns, Oscar Lane, Troy Lane and Mrs. W. H. Herran, of Collins; Miss Floyd Lane, of Hattiesburg, and Mrs. Gussie Wilkerson, Lake. She is also survived by one sister and one brother, Mrs. Naomi Burns, or Laurel, and Judge D. M. Anderson, of Newton.
