The cemetery had place of birth as Elk Run, Kansas. It should probably be Elk Falls, Howard, Kansas.

SMITH --- In Santa Cruz, Sept. 22, 1940. Viola Smith, beloved wife of Arthur L. Smith of Soquel, mother of Emery Smith of Inglewood, Leo and Herbert Smith of Bakersfield, Kenneth Smith of Soquel: sister of Mrs. Helen Holland of Los Angeles, Mrs. Stella Hoffman of Kansas and Mrs. Cora Warner of Soquel, a native of Kansas, aged 62 years. A member of Live Oak Grange of Santa Cruz.

Friends are invited to attend funeral services today, Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Santa Cruz Mortuary Chapel, 12 Laurel Street. Rev. Clyde C??? officiating. Interment in Oakwood Cemetery.
