Ray Edward Little, 82, of Albemarle, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2013 in Carolina's Medical Center-Main, Charlotte, N.C.
His funeral service will be 11 AM Friday, December 13, 2013 at Sweet Home Baptist Church with Rev. Preston Long and Rev. Charles Bowers officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Park with full military rites conducted by the Stanly County DAV Ritual Team.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 until 8 PM at Stanly Funeral Home, Albemarle. The body will remain at the funeral home until taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the hour of the service.
Born July 3, 1931 in Stanly County, NC, he was the son of the late Edd Little and Sindie Teeter Little.
He was a Plumbing Contractor and a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church. Mr. Little was a Veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean Conflict. He loved to fish especially for crappie and flounder. Mr. Little loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nellie Morris Little of the home for 58 years. Other survivors include two sons: Tim Little and wife Linda of Gold Hill, N.C. and Greg Little and wife Amy of Albemarle, N.C., five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mr. Little was preceded in death by two brothers: Delmar Little and William Jasper "Bill" Little and one sister, Gertrude Wise.
