She was born March 14, 1919, in Lavaca to Lewis A. and Mattie Elizabeth (Boatright) Chaffin.
She was a retired bookkeeper for W.H. Patterson Construction and North American Foundry. Inodean was a member of Goddard United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women and she worked in finance and accounting for the civil service during WWII at Camp Chaffee.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, W.H. "Bill" Patterson; her sister, Arvilla Chaffin Dooly; her brother, Col. Harold Newt Chaffin; and her niece, Doris Dooly Boatright.
She is survived by her nephew, Billy Dooly and his wife Wendy of Fort Smith; her niece, Carolyn English and her husband Frank of Mariposa, Calif.;. and other numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Steep Hill Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2014 at Goddard United Methodist Church under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
