Betty S. Bauer, age 85, from Louisburg, KS died Monday, December 9, 2013 at Louisburg Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Miami County, KS on January 26, 1928, the daughter of Henry and Nelle (Johnson) McGuirk.

On August 21, 1947 she was united in marriage to Leonard S. Bauer. She was a lifelong resident of the Louisburg area, graduating from Louisburg High School with the class of 1946. She attended college at Ursuline Academy in Paola, KS, receiving her teaching certificate.

After her husband Leonard's death, Betty continued operating their business, Bauer Insurance Agency before retiring in 2008. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Louisburg, KS, and the Louisburg American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Betty loved cooking and being with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Leo McGuirk, her husband Leonard Bauer on October 6, 1978 and one great granddaughter, Mikayla.

Survivors include one son, Gary (Patty) Bauer, Louisburg, KS; two daughters, Karen (Larry) Flournoy, Leawood, KS; and Paula Bauer, Louisburg, KS; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
