Lucy B. Williams, 94, of Galion, died Wednesday morning, Dec. 16, 2009 at Olentangy Woods Nursing Center in Galion. Born Dec. 11, 1915 in Charleston, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Clarence Brockman and Lucy M. (Watts) Brockman. She married Walter F. Williams, Jr. on Oct. 11, 1943 and he survives. Lucy and Walt were married in Chicago and moved to Galion after the war. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Galion and at one time she was very active in church work. In the past she had taught swimming and life saving for the Galion Chapter of the American Red Cross at Heise Park pool. Her hobbies included stamp and post mark collecting. In Chicago she worked for Clearing Industrial District and later for Hart Schaffner Marx. After she moved to Galion she worked for Hercules-Galion in accounting and was also a homemaker. In addition to her husband she is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn Williams and Frank Martinez of Redmond, Wash.; one granddaughter, Lauren Martinez; one brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Shirley Brockman of Park Ridge, Ill.. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence Brockman and William Brockman and one sister, Winnie Brockman. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, 2009 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009 with Rev. Gary Nuss officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
