Teri Able, 65, of North 1st Street, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Lakeview Christian Home of the Southwest.

Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2013 at the West Funeral Home Chapel. Bishop Steve McCutcheon of the Carlsbad Caverns Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will officiate.

There is no visitation; cremation has taken place.

Theresa "Teri" Antoinette Able was born to Horace and Betty (Granet) Morelli on August 1, 1948 in Brooklyn, NY. She moved to Carlsbad in 1964 and graduated from CHS in 1967.

Teri and Charles Able were married in November 1968. She worked as a nurses' aid for many years at Carlsbad Medical Center.

Her passion was feeding the less fortunate and she helped coordinate the Carlsbad Community Kitchen in the early 1990's. She received numerous awards for her efforts including Humanitarian of the Year by the Carlsbad Community Foundation.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband Charles Able.
