Cecelia M Bongartz, 90, died Dec 11, 2001 at Ellis Good Samaritan Center.

She was born April 22, 1911 in Dana, Ill to William and Ethzelda (Ranson) Jacobs.

She married Frank Henry Bongartz on Aug 11, 1935 in Ellis.

She farmed with her husband in Trego County. In 1974, they moved to Sublette, where she worked in the Sublette School system. In 1977, she moved back to Ellis. She was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church and the D of I.

Survivors include two sons, Raymond Bongartz, Ogallah, and David Bongartz, Bay City, Texas; six daughters, Janette Shantz, Wichita, Joanne Mays and Kandice Michel, both of Garden City, Norma Offutt and Lynda Wallace, both of Houston, Texas, and Susan Ketchum, McCamey, Texas; two sisters, Florence Dyer, SD, and Margaret Turner, St Paul, MN; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, James F and Gary A Bongartz; two brothers; and four sisters.

Services were Dec 17 at St Mary's Catholic Church with Fr Kevin Weber officiating; burial in St Mary's Church Cemetery. Wasinger Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials are suggested to Ellis Good Samaritan Center.
