ELK POINT, S.D. -- Eva Busker, 92, of Elk Point died Thursday, May 7, 2009, at the Prairie Estates Care Center, Elk Point.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the United Parish Church in Elk Point. Visitation will begin one hour before the service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Hansen Funeral Home in Vermillion, S.D.

Eva Adams was born Nov. 9, 1916, in Eagle, Neb. to Arthur and Pearl (Betts) Adams. She graduated from Eagle High School and attended the University of Nebraska. She married Jay Busker on Aug. 22, 1937, in Eagle and worked as a bookkeeper for the family business, Busker Implement in Elk Point. Jay died in 2006.

Eva was a member of the Eastern Star and had just earned her 60-year pin, and the United Parish Church in Elk Point. She enjoyed golfing, shopping and being with her family.

Survivors include her son, Bill Busker of Elk Point; a daughter, Suzanne Quam of Denver, Colo.; and two granddaughters, Stacy (Kyle) Popma and Erin (John) Vogel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jay; a daughter-in-law, Yvonne Busker; and a grandson, Kevin Quam.
