Mr. J.H. Odom, 82, of Railroad Avenue, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 1998, at Silver Springs Long Term Care Facility, Williston.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Floyd Dukes officiating. Burial will be in Barnwell Memory Gardens, Barnwell, with Masonic rites.
Mr. Odom, a native of Barnwell County, was a farmer and owned and operated Post Oak Farms for more than 60 years. He was a member of the Elderberries Club, Woodmen of the World Post No. 153, Hope Masonic Lodge No. 126 and Mount Calvary Baptist Church, where he was chairman of the deacon board, training union director and a member of the Hubert Bolen Sunday School Class.
Survivors include his wife, Elsie M. Odom; a son, Jimmie M. Odom, Elko; two daughters, Carol Ann O. Hurst, Barnwell, and Daisy Lee O. Mixon, Columbia; two stepsons, Edward T. Morgan Jr., Hanahan, and Timothy Morgan, Charleston; a stepdaughter, Jan M. Rowell, Denmark; two brothers, Ruben Odom, Blackville, and Albert Odom, West Columbia; two sisters, Alberta O. Folk, Blackville, and Daisy Mae O. Still, Denmark; and 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Adam Odom, Jay Folk, Tony Odom, Ken Mixon, Glenn Anderson and Phil Gainey.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Folk Funeral Home, Williston.
