Esther Elizabeth (Miller) Williams was born July 21, 1910 near Norwich, Iowa, the daughter of Alva Dwight and Louella (Andrews) Miller. She passed away on Friday morning, April 3, 2009 at her home in Shenandoah, Iowa at the age of 98 years, 8 months and 18 days.

Esther grew up on the farm near Norwich. She attended Tarkio #9 School in Norwich through the eighth grade. She then attended Shenandoah High School graduating in 1928. She later attended Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa for two years. On December 27, 1934 she was united in marriage to Earl C. Fishbaugh, Jr. at her parent’s home near Norwich. Earl passed away in 1968. On February 8, 1974, Esther married Clinton M. Williams at the Methodist Church in Norwich. Clinton passed away in 1996.

Esther taught country school at Tarkio #8 in Page County for three years. She enjoyed her home, traveling, playing bridge and entertaining her many friends. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Shenandoah, UPW, Chapters DN and JA of PEO of Shenandoah, Kappa Delta Sorority of Iowa State University, two bridge clubs, Yoga exercise group, Daughters of the American Revolution, Republican Women, the Antique Study Club, American Legion Auxiliary and the Shenandoah Hospital Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents Alva and Luella Miller; her two husbands, Earl C. Fishbaugh, Jr. and Clinton M. Williams; and a brother, Kenneth A. Miller.

Survivors include her step daughter, Carolyn Reade and her husband Bob of Omaha, NE; three step-grandsons, Christopher Reade, Cory Reade and Chad Reade; a sister, Francis Stevens and her husband Wayne of Shenandoah, IA; seven nieces; a nephew; along with many other relatives and friends.
