Moses Franklin Powell, 1217 Virginia Ave., died at the Washington County Hospital Friday evening, aged 73 years. Born near Elkton, Va., he was a son of the late Daniel C. and Mary (Shiflett) Powell, and was a member of the Emanuel EUB Church. He had been an employee of the Norfolk and Western railroad for 47 years, retiring in 1954. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Engineers.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Minnie F. Powell, daughters, Mrs. Thelma Keplinger, Mrs. Dorothy Anderson, Stephenson, Va.; brother, D. O. Powell, Shenandoah; sisters, Mrs. Hugh Koontz, Norfolk; Mrs. Mortimer Irwin, Dundalk, Mrs. Wendell B. Alexander, Hampton; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Minnich Funeral Home, East Wilson Blvd., Monday at 2 p.m., the Rev. Walter Gable officiating. Burial will be made in Rest Haven Cemetery.
