Adelle C. Cimino, 90, of Newfield Road, died peacefully in her home on Friday, December 6, 2013. She was the beloved wife of sixty-three years of Frank A. Cimino. Adelle was born in Dallas, Texas, on August 29, 1923, daughter of the late Ernest Beauregard Caffarel and Rose Irene (Smith) Caffarel and was a graduate of the University of Colorado. She was a resident of Torrington for 61 years, and a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church. Adelle and her husband Frank enjoyed traveling and visiting relatives across the country, taking evening classes together, and spending time with friends, both in Torrington and in Myrtle Beach, SC, where they spent winters for over 20 years. She was a keen Scrabble player, and loved to paint, and for many years was the treasurer of the Litchfield County Art Association. She was a kind and gentle soul, yet always had a sharp and wry sense of humor. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and her warmth and goodness will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her husband Frank, she is survived by four sons, Paul Cimino of Torrington; Don Cimino and his wife Rozalind, of Plainville, CT; Glenn Cimino and his wife Yuko, of San Francisco, CA; Tom Cimino and his wife Heather, of New Canaan, CT; a daughter, Gail Cimino of Milford, CT; five grandchildren, Alex Cimino, Drew Cimino, Eric Cimino, Naomi Cimino, and Isabella Cimino; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at 9:30 a.m. from Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect Street, Torrington, to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 160 Main Street, Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in New Saint Francis Cemetery, Torrington. Friends may call Monday, December 9, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home.
