John W. Caton, 74, of RD 3, Meyersdale, died yesterday at Meyersdale Community Hospital. Born near Meyersdale, he was a son of the late Wilson and Agnes (Baer) Caton. His wife, Mary (Fuller) Caton, preceded him in death. Mr. Caton was a veteran of World War I and was a member of Greenville Lutheran Church. Surviving are three sons, Harry A., of RD 4, and Wilson and Sheridan Caton, both of RD 3, Meyersdale; five daughters, Mrs. Sheridan Logue and Mrs. Harvey Crissinger, both of RD 4; Mrs. Myrtle Phillippi, RD 3; Mrs. Beulah Blake, Boynton, and Mrs. Melvin Meyers, Conway; two brothers, George and Harry Caton, both of RD 3; a sister, Mrs. Lela Bittner, RD 3; 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. The body is at the Price Funeral Home where services will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p.m. by Rev. David Fetter, with burial in Greenville Cemetery. The Cumberland News, March 30, 1971
