He was the son of Leverette Baker and Emma Annie Jackson. His father sadly died when Clyde was a year old and he was raised by his mother and her family until his mother remarried in November 1917.
At the time of the explosion, Clyde lived at 1496 Barrington Street with his mother, aunt Ada and her family.
Barrington Street was one of the hardest hit places in Halifax.
The remains of Clyde and his mother were buried in Mount Olivet, Cemetery.
His three older siblings survived the explosion.
