This community was saddened January 15th, when the news was spread that one of our neighbors, Owen Adkins, had passed to the great beyond. Uncle Owen had been as well as usual and ate a hearty dinner and fell dead. Uncle Owen was known throughout the community, was a good Christian man and as long as he was able to attend church he was a faithful member. He was about 76 years of age, and the father of three sets of children. They are Fern, Melvin, Ernet, Mit, and Jay. He also leaves his wife and a host of relatives and friends to mourn their loss. Funeral was at the church Sunday at 10 o'clock, conducted by his pastor, Rev. H.J. Ridner, after which the body was buried in the Pine Thicket Cemetery.
