Owen C. Knerr, age 77, 8820 Oakwood Ave., Munster, Ind., passed away Friday morning, July 20, 1973, St. Margaret Hospital.

Survivors: one daughter, Mrs. William (Arlene) Gardow, Munster, one son, Commander Donald O. (Jean) Knerr, of Monrovio, Liberia; one step- son, Edward (Marion) Franz, Evergreen Park, Ill., six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Rudesill, Baldwin, Wisc.; Mrs. Stanley (Alice) Birkel, of Ellsworth, Wisc., one brother William (May) Knerr, of Vista, Calif.; nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Snyder LaHayne Funeral Home, 5746 Hohman Ave., Hammond in charge. No viewing, no visitation. Please omit flowers. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, Lutheran Home, Northwest, Indiana.

He was a retired carpenter, Veteran of WW I having served in the navy. A member of the Edward H. Larson VFW No. 802 of Hammond. Member of the Hammond Senior Citizens. He was a resident of this area for 27 years.
