Spouse: John Noland (16 children were born to this union)
Nancy is my mother's paternal grandmother. I remember her clearly; she had beautiful white hair that was always marcelled and that was her main vanity. I was told that she sometimes smoked a little cob pipe, but she never smoked in front of me. She was supposedly part Native American but I don't know how much and am not sure which tribe. She was never put on the Dawes Roll because, according to stories told by her husband John N., a fee was involved and he responded, "We ain't going to pay $5 to be no damned Indian." Very sad for those of us who would love to trace her heritage. G-Grandma Nancy was a sweet and dearly loved little woman. Source: jdyrly
